How it works
General Mills and Stop & Shop are teaming up to give families a great way to stock up and save, as they gear up for back to school. Here’s why shoppers should shop at Stop & Shop’s big Back to School Event.
1. Great sale pricing on the participating General Mills brands:
Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Reeses Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cookie Crisp Sprinkles, Cookie Crisp, Fruit Snacks, Old El Paso Dinner Kits, Pillsbury Strudel, Pillsbury Scrambles, Green Giant Boxed Vegetables, Yoplait Yo-Plus Multi-Pack, Fiber One Yogurt Multi-Pack, Pillsbury Refrigerated Cookies, Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, Pillsbury Sweet Rolls, and Yoplait Delights
2. Additional savings for you or your school, depending on which Stop & Shop location you shop
If your Stop & Shop store sells gas
- Buy four (4) participating General Mills items and you’ll automatically earn 100 points on your Stop & Shop card
- For every 100 points earned, you'll save 10¢ per gallon of gas (Please note: Total discount cannot exceed price per gallon)
- Just swipe your Stop & Shop Card at the pump to redeem your Gas Rewards
For those Stop & Shop locations without gas stations, don’t worry – you’re not left out of the savings – if you buy five (5) participating General Mills products, you will receive 20 Bonus Box Tops for your school.

Disclosure
My Blog Spark and General Mills provided me my own $10 gift card in exchange for spreading the word about this event. Since nobody in my house is currently attending school, I got to realize my dream of free coffee through blogging. I brought no other money to the store, and had just enough to grab a much-needed (okay, desired) bag of coffee, bottle of CoffeeMate, and pack of filters. As I was planning a light load, I put the kids in the double-stroller and made a morning walk out of it.
However, you may recall I've had some frustrations finding available and unbroken two-kid shopping carts (the kind with the big red attachment up front) at this and other grocery stores, making it nearly impossible for me to do a full shopping trip with both toddlers in tow. Since Stop & Shop is a company I want to support without caveats, I rang the manager at my local store this morning to discuss the issue (I submitted an online complaint last winter, but nothing happened). As a new manager to this location, he told me he's already noted the problem and ordered 10 additional carts, which he's hoping to get approved. He assured me that at the very least, we should see new straps on the existing carts soon. I think this is maybe the second time in my life I've called a store to offer "feedback." I think I did okay ... Right? Will keep you posted on when and if we see results.

Yep. Comments work. Just checking....
ReplyDeleteThere are SO many stores that have carriages with broken seatbelts or some other issue. I always have this problem at BJs. I submitted a complaint online last year and heard nothing back. With three kids it's impossible to shop without one of those carriages. :(
ReplyDeleteMy local store just replaced all the carriages. Yay! They look reasonably clean and safe, for once!
ReplyDeleteI already follow Spawn-Reviews...
Yes, they definitely need new carriages, or at the very least working seatbelts. Good for you for complaining. I'm already a follower of Spawnocalypse Reviews. :) Hope you have been enjoying your coffee.
